Welcome to the spiffy world of oldtime radio! Radio broadcasts were originally done live, and unless a recording was made at the time of the broadcast, the broadcast was lost forever. Audiences on the East coast heard a program that was again broadcast live, three hours later, on the West coast. Later on, 16-inch trancriptions were produced for later
broadcast and in the 1940's, reel-to-reel recording tape was
introduced as well.
If you love the mystery, mirth and magic
of those vintage
old time radio shows, then grab a cup of coffee, have a seat and
let's get acquainted. While we do, why not bookmark
this page for later reference. You'll want to come back and sample
our specials and which will change from time to time.
Magic? You Bet! Yes, even in this
day and age of instant computer access to anything, those authentic,
vintage old time
radio broadcasts are still the magic carpet to imagination, enchantment
and entertainment. Unlike TV or movies, OTR programs project
their images in the vivid clarity of your mind's eye.
Vintage radio shows can be experienced again and again, each time
they will sound a little different. Therein lies
the 'magic' of those Vintage Broadcasts of yesteryear, the golden years of radio.
